For unique vinyl glass décor solutions that resemble sandblasted or etched-glass, graphics artist, Alberto Muñoz, prefers MACtac’s MACmark Glass Décor 700. Available in both frosted and dusted finishes, Glass Décor 700 adds dimension and style to a variety of residential interior glass décor applications, including windows and glass shower doors.

As an installer, cutting and applying cut vinyl graphics can sometimes be a challenge, but with the correct processes in place and a good cutting plotter, it can just as easily be the reverse. To achieve a uniform appearance in window-etching applications, installers should use application tape and practice the wet application method. Application tape helps secure the graphic and a wet application keeps the adhesive from adhering to the glass until pressed firmly into place using the appropriate installation tool.

Muñoz applies MACtac's glass décor products with transfer tape and a squeegee and when challenges arise, follows the wet application method. Prior to application, when cutting the vinyl, Muñoz suggests paying close attention to cutting depth because if the cut is too deep, the paper liner could split and remove with the adhesive when the vinyl is transferred to application tape. He also recommends dividing the vinyl into smaller sections for added success and a bubble-free application.

The glass décor series is part of MACtac's MACmark line of vinyl marking films, which features a broad spectrum of frosted, dusted, and colored films for cut vinyl applications ranging from short-term signage to long-term fleet graphics. MACmark is known for excellent conformability, adhesion to difficult surfaces, and the ability to withstand high temperatures.

Glass Décor 700 facestocks are a translucent matte, 3.0-mil cadmium-free vinyl coated with a durable, long-lasting, permanent acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive that features excellent wet-out characteristics for clarity. The adhesive is protected with a high quality, 83# white kraft liner that offers stability and layflat. Compared to window-etching, frosting or sandblasting applications, MACtac's Glass Décor 700 offers sufficient time and cost —and no mess.

Glass Décor 700 provides an extended long-term indoor durability and up to seven years outdoor durability, which can be affected by environmental factors such as exposure to severe temperatures, ultra-violet light and tropical, sub-tropical or desert regions. Glass Décor 700 is waterproof and is covered under MACtac's Open Image Warranty.
