Inca Digital announces that Brandboxx, based near Madison, Wisconsin, has purchased an Inca Spyder 320+ white wide format flatbed digital inkjet printer from Fujifilm Sericol during Graph Expo 2006.
Brandboxx had spent 15 years as a prepress specialist until last year, when it invested in large format technology and announced six months ago that it would focus solely on large format, retail and visual graphic production, applying the company's skills in color management and digital workflow. The company's 20 employees operate in a 20,000 square foot modern facility working on retail and display production for an extremely quality conscious client base.
Although the company had many roll-fed wide format printers, they researched the efficiency of flatbed UV ink printers, noting that they required minimal post printing handwork-eliminating mounting and laminating on rigid substrates would save a lot of time and money. In order to attract clients more national in scope, they needed a true production machine with the prerequisite quality, and looked at every flatbed printer that appeared a reasonable candidate. When the Inca Spyder printer was introduced Jim Sullivan, Brandboxx president, realized it was the affordable, high-quality production machine he was searching for. At Graph Expo 2006, he purchased a Spyder 320+ white right from the floor.
The Spyder 320+ white is the latest addition to Inca's best-selling Spyder 320 range and was developed to meet strong demand from the market for a digital printer that can handle white printing more easily and more flexibly and at higher quality than previously possible. Inca has experienced an exceptional response to this new machine following its announcement earlier in the year.
"I researched every flatbed worth looking at, and the Inca Spyder 320+ white is in a league of its own. It's the Rolls of the industry-a production machine that prints at photographic quality. This machine can hold open 8-point type while, at the same time, running faster than any other machine," remarks Sullivan. "The Spyder will bang out 4'x8' retail graphics every two minutes."
