Gerber Announces Patent Infringement Suit Against Roland
Gerber Scientific Inc.
Gerber Scientific Inc. has announced that it filed a patent infringement suit last December in Federal District Court in Hartford, CT against Roland DGA Corporation, the distribution and sales arm of Roland DG Corporation of Hamamatsu, Japan. Gerber's patent, which covers equipment and a method for printing and cutting sheet feed material, was issued by the US Patent Office in 1996 and was reconfirmed by the Patent Office in May of 2006.
Gerber is seeking damages in excess of thirty million dollars ($30,000,000), and an injunction against Roland's sale of infringing products.
