Winter Park Blue Goes Green
Thomas Reprographics Press Release

Winter Park Blue, A Division of Thomas Reprographics, Inc. has implemented the TR Green Plan that includes green initiatives for all Thomas Reprographics' locations across the United States. "Because we think green business is good business, each facility will practice printing with a smaller carbon footprint. We are committed to establishing sustainable procedures within our own business as well as providing our customers tools to facilitate more environmentally conscious business practices," states Bryan Thomas, president.

“Keeping our environment in mind has lead to many changes in the printing industry and Thomas wants to be a leader in eco-friendly business practices,” says Thomas. Thomas Reprographics was one of the first firms to revamp the image of the traditional blueprint shop and move it into new directions. From bluelines to bond prints and compact fluorescent light bulbs, we want to practice green at work and at home. Utilizing document management software such as Digital Vault DFS, Printable or iProcure, allows our customers to perpetuate sustainable business practices.

These eco-friendly solutions make good business sense and provide:

• Global Accessibility – Search, view and print documents from anywhere in the world, 24/7
• Management Tools – Manage and track documents and/or projects online
• Instant Print – Print a document to any HP printer in your office (or remote location) in minutes
• Print on Demand – Order usable quantities, instead of printing and warehousing more documents than you need that become out of date and wasted
• Localize Printing & Delivery – Print to any of our Thomas locations nationwide limiting the need for overnight freight and the expenses associated with these services.

In addition to their corporate green team, each city established a green team who will manage their facility upgrades and materials recycling.

The company provided each city an employee written and produced video and asked each city team to “launch” as they saw fit. Additionally, bags made from 100% recycled materials containing a T-shirt, CFL bulb, tire gauge and “green tips” magnet were given to over 900 employees. From “green” carpet affairs, coffee mug design contests, popcorn, candy and green sugar cookies, fun kick-offs were meant to garner employee buy-in and were well received. To keep the momentum going, The TR Green Plan will be reinforced with corporate green tips and training.
